Shepard Fairey

Responsible for the Andre the Giant “Obey” stickers (after the jump) Shepard Fairey has definitely put his stamp on America. While some claim that he just rips off previous pop-art advertisements, his new interpretations are undoubtedly catchy and effective. Plus, he’s a babe.

Before I Die

This art project has been making its rounds lately- the artists took Polaroids of people and asked them to write what they would like to do before they die.  A huge number of people say they wish to travel, and the rest vary between the sweet, the cynical, and the heartbreaking.   Here are a few of my favorites:

Attention to Detail

My new favorite blog has to be Photoshop Disasters. It’s a collection of heinously ‘shopped images from magazines, advertisements, and websites, compiled for our endless amusement.

Not only is the giant check a badly edited piece of clip art, note the shadow on the ground. And the reflection in the side of the Hummer. And the fact that the check says “Hunderd”. The site is updated daily with these gloriously awful monstrosities, accompanied by often-snarky commentary. Check it out.
