OK GO vs The Bravery- COMMENT POLL

OK GO’s newest video for “This Too Shall Pass” gives me weird deja vu.

Hmm, I wonder why? OH WAIT.

Same domino opening shot and all! Which video do you guys like better? I love The Bravery’s for coming first…but I love the color usage and sheer scale of calamity from the OK GO video, too.

Valentine’s also got a domino-esque video. Check it out, here.

OK GO win for the scale, the almost continuous cut, the ambient noise, the decision not to use the Bravery’s ugly yellow isolation trick, the lack of rock-poseur attitude, not relying too heavily on dominoes (yawn), inflatable shooty arm things, SPOONS PLAYING GLASSES IN TUNE, and self-referential hammer & tv interaction.

If only the song wasn’t rubbish.

Also, something I noticed only because iTunes refused to shut up while I was watching the Valentine vid: Kina Grannis’ vocals would mashup really, really well with Gainsberg’s Melody. Honestly. This one right here:

Wow, that video was like “Breathless: Le Musique Video”.

And, may I add a big WHATEVER.
I still like the bravery one, if only for the Honest Mistake that happens at the end. The symbolism! The video/word play! THE YELLOW GOLDFISH!!!

OK Go wins for me. It was bigger, better, while somehow seeming low-budgeter. I also liked the ambient noise and the way the machine seemed to sort of function to the beat of the song.

    OK Go FTW.

Both remind me of Mouse Trap.

Instead of comment polls I’m going to have despotism posts.

I love mouse trap. I would go to a shitty frat bar if they had a mouse trap board.
