Shepard Fairey

Responsible for the Andre the Giant “Obey” stickers (after the jump) Shepard Fairey has definitely put his stamp on America. While some claim that he just rips off previous pop-art advertisements, his new interpretations are undoubtedly catchy and effective. Plus, he’s a babe.

The creator of this election’s favorite Obama icon, Shepard guest starred on the Colbert Report, saying how, despite the image’s phenomenal success, he hasn’t made any profit on it. And he’s okay with that. Wow, even Gondry couldn’t help bitching about his lack of funds from his own Director’s Series DVD. Selfless, artistically clever, and a total stud, Shepard Fairey is one of those untouchable people that will never become a celebrity but never remain quite the average citizen, either.

PLUS: he has a kickass name.

    great graphic artist.
I’ve even seen a picture effects for the style of the second illustration of obama; meaning that you can put it on a filter to an image.
