Cillit Bang Commercials Make Me Happy

October 22, 2008 at 2:07 am 3 comments

Living in Ireland for the spring of 2007, I grew to become very familiar with their T.V. commercials. Inbetween marathons of watching Scrubs, Betty and I would get to a point where we could memorize almost every commercial. So it is understandable that when I think of Ireland, I think of none other than Cillit Bang

Roughly based on the Oxyclean commercials starring the slightly deaf Billy Mays, Cillit Bang’s Barry Scott adopts this equally “effective” yelling technique with the U.K. When injected into the homes of disgruntled housewives, his yelling is so effective that consumers can’t help but yell with him. “JUST LOOK AT THIS LIMESCALE!” they scream, their eyes literally twitching with mildew and soap scum residue. But fear not, with Barry Scott, cleaning’s a breeze! Just spray, swipe, bang! And the dirt is gone.

Check out this hilarious remake, too.
