Sloooow Mooootion

I’m a really big fan of those incredibly high-speed cameras. I could watch balloons being popped or lightbulbs being broken in slow motion all day. There’s something beautiful and affecting about slow mo- there’s a reason Wes Anderson uses it in every single one of his films.

Instead of going for a poignant moment with some acoustic-guitar based indie hit, however, this is bumping dance music coupled with some serious face-punching. (I know I just said bumping, but you know what? I don’t even care. I’m just rushing with endorphins because FACE PUNCHING.)

It is really awesome the way it repeatedly cuts just before the glove actually makes contact. The resulting tension makes you itch for violence, which is somewhat disturbing.

I find slo-mo vids of peoiple getting clocked in the head particularly fascinating, just because you can see how much your head warps when you get hit. You can see the skull twisting on some of those.

Also, I love in that vid how they’re all doing these wacky things and the glove comes in repeatedly on each one. Very well done.
