Posts About NYU Get a Lot of Hits

“Oh my God, you guys. I can’t believe made it!”

“Yeah. We graduated [from NYU]. How totally… amazing…”

Amy Heckerling speaks at the Tisch Salute ’08. She instructs us not to smoke or drive SUVs, or wear giant high heels. Foreground: Hilariously animated sign language translator.

So, we finally made it. After four years of really hard classes where we made films and prosthetic fingers, web sites and music videos, we’ve graduated. Despite the brain damage incurred after a semester in Dublin and nearly unfinished essays on Irish cinema, traumatic breakups, moral reformation, and numerous encounters with crazy people on the streets and subways, our careers at NYU come to a teary-eyed end.

In other NYU Graduation-related news, Tisch Film/TV student (represent!) Will Lopez ran the bases at the Yankee Stadium NYU Commencement, and was tackled by the cops, making many New York newspapers’ front page the next day. Somebody had the spice up the event. Speaker Laurence Tribe? C’mon. Read that whole story from Newsday here.

In the words of Vitamin C, “Will we still remember everything we learned in school? Still be trying to break every single rule? Will little brainy Bobby be the stockbroker man? Can Heather find a job that won’t interfere with her tan?” Questions that may never be answered. So let us go on to our dream jobs at PBS, Computer Station, or YouTube, in search of truth and beauty, and the answers to questions that may be unanswerable.

It was basically just a list of advice which was both hilarious and helpful. She said not to smoke or put smoking in movies and also not to wear high heels because you’ll ruin your back. Just cute practical stuff. She also mentioned 2 Girls 1 Cup, which was hilarious.

  • […] Iddo Goldberg: talented, insanely attractive, and proud owner of a Facebook profile. I know what you’re thinking: Who the hell is Iddo Goldberg? Why the fuck should I care? Well, chances are you’ve seen Iddo appear in a number of tasteful cameos, such as the news anchor in Run Fatboy Run, Billie Piper’s only co-star in Secret Diary of a Call Girl, and yes, even Skins! I would also like to add that he played the director in Amy Heckerling’s “I Could Never Be Your Woman”, but that movie only makes sense if you know who Amy Heckerling is, and more importantly, what her hair looks like.
