Celeb Sighting: Gideon Yago, Why Must you Taunt Me?

It’s official people: Gideon Yago MUST live in the East Village. Yesterday was the second time I’ve seen him, and good lord, I only have so many dry panties from my bi-weekly laundromat pilgrimages!

I knew it was him as soon as I was crossing Second Ave, spotting his trademark black rimmed glasses, and, what was that? A bit of gray hair?

Betty Might Not Like This

Today I was in Duane Reade, where I spend most of my disposable time, and came across an interesting product in the haircare aisle. Actually, this was not the first time I had noticed this product, but it was the first time I thought something should be said about it. And lo and behold, I return home to see that Olivia has made a post in a similar topic – bizarre sexual novelty products. Well here it is:

Betty! Color for “hair down there”! Hm. Well. If there’s a more unnecessary and pointless beauty product out there, I haven’t seen it, and so was not surprised to see that it was on sale in the DR.

Christopher Walken Endorses Our Site

Because with us, you know where you stand.

The Googly Eyes Gardener.

A rare and LOL funny sketch from Saturday Night Live. There’s nothing better than Christopher Walken’s pronounciation of “googly”.

“Winston Churchill once said, the eyes are the windows of your face.”

Celeb Sighting: Andrew D’Ambrosi Looking Adorable on the L

If you’re a girl from New York City, you know that the L train not only represents the choice subway car of hipsters, it also has become a veritable meat market of cute guys. Every subway ride presents a new crush, and this time was no different.

I don’t care if he did try to be an oompa loompa for one of the Top Chef challenges. He is adorable. And seeing him in a down to earth blue zip-up hoodie on the 1st Ave. platform couldn’t have reinstated this fact any more.

When I first spotted him, I thought “Which party did I see him at? He looks familiar.” It was only upon walking away from him that I realized who he was, and my red-head-loving self regretted not yelling “You can come cook for me anytime!”

Glass City

I went back home this weekend to see a public screening of a film I spent 13 days helping to shoot over the summer.  It’s the only feature I’ve worked on so far, and I am certain it will always remain a unique experience.  First of all, the script was based upon a group of people I know, at least as acquaintances.  It was directed by one of those people, and the writer/producer/cinematographer was the guy who started the theater group upon which the film was based.  The main character was named after my best friend, and it’s set in my hometown.  So it’s pretty close to home already, in a very literal way.

In Case You Didn’t Get Fucked Up Enough Last Night

My still hungover-self was flipping channels when I came across an NYC-TV music video lineup. Watching the following video, I was so transported to a world of 90s riffs and green-screened dolphins that I thought, “These guys were SO HIP for their time!”. And then I Googled them: 2007. Snap, I fail.

So here it is, MGMT’s music video for Time to Pretend.
